My Classroom Philosophy and Values
From my freshman year, I knew that I wanted to help students know that they are capable learners and to foster excitement for learning in them. My classroom philosophy has since developed into a drive to show students that they are capable learners; I do this by fostering creativity in their work and developing a sense of pride in their own abilities for my students. Using guidance based language is an important part of my classroom. My goals are for my students are to develop skills such as independence, creativity, an ability to work well with peers and critical thinking skills. These are vital to developing the whole child.

Classroom and Behavior Management in my classroom flow from the guidance-based language I had the amazing opportunity to experience throughout my classroom experiences, professional development, and through my courses at the University of Mary. Some applications of this look like: The Nurtured Heart Approach Conscious Discipline Using Powerful Interactions to guide students Culturally Responsive Education These are important foundational aspects of my classroom, where I use positive guidance so that students can see the greatness in themselves and others. One of the most important things that I want my students to know is that they matter, that they are capable and that our classroom is not the same without them. |
Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more. |
